TL;DR
We're not doing anything sketchy with your data. We collect what we need to make the app work, we don't sell it, and we're not going to spam you. The site operators can see your data because, well, someone has to keep the lights on.
What We Collect
When you use Saturday's Spinout, we collect:
- iRacing account information - Your driver name, member ID, and race history that you authorize us to access through iRacing's OAuth system
- Journal entries - The notes and sentiments you add to your races
- Basic usage data - Standard server logs that help us keep things running
How We Use It
Your data is used to:
- Show you your race history and let you add journal entries
- Keep the service running and fix things when they break
- Maybe someday add cool features like stats and trends (if we get around to it)
Who Can See It
The site operators (that's us) have access to the database and can technically see your data. This is necessary for maintaining the service, debugging issues, and making sure nothing's on fire. We're not going to read your journal entries for fun, but we're being honest that the access exists.
We don't sell your personal data or race history to data brokers. If we ever need to run ads to keep the lights on, we might work with ad networks that use standard tracking (cookies and such), but we're not handing over your journal entries or iRacing stats to advertisers. Your racing confessions stay between you and us.
iRacing Data
We access your iRacing data through their official OAuth system. You can revoke this access at any time through your iRacing account settings. When you do, we'll stop syncing new data, though existing data in your journal will remain unless you ask us to delete it.
Data Storage
Your data is stored on AWS infrastructure in the United States. We use reasonable security measures, but let's be real - no system is perfectly secure. We do our best.
Deleting Your Data
Want your data gone? Email us at support@saturdaysspinout.com and we'll take care of it. We'll remove your account and associated data from our systems.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page. We're not going to suddenly start selling your data or anything like that - any changes will be in the spirit of keeping things straightforward.
